Most Olympic gold medals won by a country in a single discipline

According to Official Guinness Records,

The most Olympic gold medals won by a country in a single discipline is 22, achieved by the USA in the men’s long jump, from Athens 1896 to Rio 2016. Overall team USA have 47 long jump medals including 15 silver and 10 bronze. Carl Lewis (USA) has also won more long jump gold medals than any other athlete with four.
