Most events featured at an Olympic Games

According to Official Guinness Records,

A record 306 events are on the programme for the XXXI Olympiad to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 5–21 August 2016. The previous record of 302 was set in Beijing 2008 and equalled at London 2012. However, the IOC agreed to four more events for Rio 2016 with the inclusion of two additional sports – Rugby Sevens and Golf.
