Fastest 50 km ultra distance (women)

According to Official Guinness Records,

On 25 March 1989, Frith van der Merwe (South Africa) ran 50 kilometres (31.06 miles) in 3 hours 8 minutes 39 seconds during the 56-km (34.79-mile) Two Oceans Ultramarathon in Cape Town, South Africa. She proceeded to set a course record of 3 hours 30 minutes 36 seconds on a day when more than 2,000 runners failed to finish due to the heat.As of January 2015, the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) no longer classifies World Best Performances by surface, creating a single combined list of fastest times.
