First heart transplant operation

According to Official Guinness Records,

The first successful heart transplant operation was performed by Prof.
Christiaan Neethling Barnard (South Africa, 1922 - 2001) and a team of 30 physicians on Louis Washkansky (South Africa), at the Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa ,between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on 3 December 1967. The donor was Denise Ann Darvall (South Africa), aged 25. Washkansky survived for 18 days with the new heart.
