Most step ups in 8 hours

According to Official Guinness Records,

The most step ups in eight hours is 8,898 step ups and was achieved by Arran McLellan (Canada), at the University of Victoria Stadium, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, on 4 June 2011.
Arran's dedication in setting the record led to him having to stop the attempt after less than six and a half hours due to him sustaining a hip flexor injury and heat stroke. However, he was still able to set the record in that time.
