The most people drumming barrels simultaneously is 1,171, achieved by Mitsuke City (Japan) in Mitsuke, Niigata, Japan, on 29 July 2018.The attempt took place for the 50th anniversary of the Mitsuke Festival. Barrels used for the attempt were originally made for soy sauce barrels then converted into instruments.
