Most ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships gold medals in the same event (male)

According to Official Guinness Records,

The most ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships gold medals won in the same event by a male athlete is eight and was achieved by Michal Martikán (Slovakia) in the C1 Team event in 1997, 2003, 2009–11 and 2013–15.The previous record was seven, which Martikán shared with American Jon Lubgill who had won the same event, the C1 Team, seven times. The ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships are held annually except in Olympic years.
