According to Official Guinness Records,

The fastest crossing of the Simpson Desert by solar-powered land vehicle is 4 days 21 hours and 23 minutes achieved by Mark French and Denny French (both Australia), arriving at Birdsville, Queensland, Australia, on 11 September 2017.A fully electric 4WD Suzuki SJ413 Sierra was used for the record attempt.
