Smallest sheathed thermocouple

According to Official Guinness Records,

In May 2009, the Okazaki Manufacturing Company (Japan) announced it had developed a sheathed thermocouple with an outside diameter of just 80 micrometres (0.00315 in). This is equivalent to the thickness of a human hair. A thermocouple is frequently used as the sensing element in a thermal sensor or switch.
