Newest species of wild cat

According to Official Guinness Records,

The newest species of wild cat to be recognised, and formally named (in 2013), is the southern Brazilian oncilla Leopardus guttulus. A study of oncillas published in 2013 revealed that those inhabiting the Atlantic Forest of southern Brazil do not interbreed with oncillas found elsewhere in Brazil. And genetic studies confirmed that they represent a hitherto-cryptic but valid species in their own right, taxonomically separate from the common oncilla L. tigrina (also known as the tigrina, little spotted cat, or tiger cat, and closely related to the larger, more familiar ocelot), which is native not only to Brazil but also to several other countries in South and Central America.
