The most people on space hoppers simultaneously is 2,943 and was achieved by 49M, an initiative of Eskom Holdings SOC Limited (South Africa), in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 23 March 2013. This was an Eskom Holdings SOC Limited initiative aimed at urging the South African population to be energy efficient;the event was organized by 49M (an Eskom energy efficient campaign) at Marks Park, Johannesburg, South Africa. As they entered the arena, the participants bounced on a kinetics plate to transform kinetic energy into electrical energy.
