According to Official Guinness Records,

The most martial arts sword cuts to one mat (Suegiri) is 8, achieved by Isao Machii (Japan) at Digital Hollywood University Hachioji Production Studio, in Hachioji, Tokyo, Japan, on 23 April 2015. Isao Machii improved his previous record by one cut.
