According to Official Guinness Records,

The lowest fuel consumption driving the coast of Australia in a diesel car is 3.13 l/100 km (90.75 mpg) and was achieved by John Taylor and Helen Taylor (both Australia), from 3 to 26 February 2008. John and Helen also hold the current record for Lowest fuel consumption during circumnavigation by driving.
