According to Official Guinness Records,

Casualty (BBC, 1986–present) is the world’s most enduring primetime medical drama series.
Only the hospital-based soap opera General Hospital (ABC, 1963–present) – now the world’s longest-running daytime soap opera with the demise of As the World Turns (CBS, 1956–2010) – has been broadcast for a longer period.
