The world's longest running TV commercial is the Discount Tire Company's Thank you commercial, produced by Swartwout Productions (Arizona, USA) and first aired in 1975. The same commercial has been aired continuously every year in parts of the USA. The commercial involves an old lady throwing an unwanted tyre into the glass window of Discount Tires, while the voice-over suggests that if a customer is not happy with their tyres, then please return them...Thank you.
It gained such popularity that it is still shown, and won the Hollywood Radio and Television Society's World's Best Broadcast Advertisements of 1976 certificate.
