According to Official Guinness Records,

The longest gum wrapper chain measures 27,259 m (89,432 ft 4 in) and was made by Gary Duschl (USA), in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA, from 11 March 1965 to 11 March 2016. It took Gary 51 years to make a 27,259 m gum wrapper chain, averaging 1.463 m (4.8 ft) per day. The chain weighs 571 kg (1,260 lb). It would take over 6 hours to walk from one end of the chain to the other. The chain is made entirely from Wrigley wrappers, Juicy Fruit, Doublemint, Spearmint, Big Red and Winterfresh, it contains 2,142,857 wrappers, and exactly $150,000 US, worth of gum. Gary held this record from 1995, for twenty-two straight years.
