According to Official Guinness Records,

The country with the highest annual defence budget is the USA. According to the most recent figures from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the USA bucked the trend of reduction in its military expenditure by spending approximately $596 billion by the end of 2015 – up from $587 billion in 2014.
