First spacecraft computers to use integrated circuitry
According to Official Guinness Records,
The Apollo manned missions to the Moon required onboard computers to be as small and lightweight as possible, while being reliable and capable. Designed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Apollo Guidance Computer weighed just 30 kg and measured 61 x 32 x 17 cm. They were the first spacecraft computers to use integrated circuitry and became available in 1965. Each lunar landing mission had two AGCs, one in the command module and one in the lunar module. They had a memory of 2,048 words of RAM and 36,864 words of ROM.
