First legal summons served online

According to Official Guinness Records,

In December 2008, an Australian lawyer, Mark MacCormack, and his partner, Jason Oliver, created internet legal history when they used the Facebook social networking site to serve legal documents on a couple who had defaulted on their mortgage. A Supreme Court Judge in the Australia Capital Territory, Master David Harper, ruled that court notices served on the site were binding. Having tracked the one of the missing people by putting their email address into Facebook, the lawyers found information that was identical to that on the mortgage application and, in Facebook Friends, details of the second defendant.
