First discovered Palaeolithic cave art

According to Official Guinness Records,

Discovered in the 1870s, paintings of animals and handprints from the El Castillo cave in Puente Viesgo in the province of Cantabria, Spain, have been proved to be at least 40,800 years old. This makes them both the oldest cave art and the oldest paintings of any kind.
