Fastest run 2,000 metres (female)

According to Official Guinness Records,

Genzebe Dibaba (Ethiopia) won an indoor 2,000 metres race in 5 minutes 23.75 seconds at the Miting Internacional de Catalunya in Sabadell, Spain, on 7 February 2017. It was the fourth successive year that Dibaba had recorded a world-best indoor time. As of 17 August 2017, she also held the fastest ever recorded times for the 1,500 metres, mile, 3,000 metres, two miles and 5,000 metres – as well as the outdoor 1,500 metres world record.Although the 2,000 m race was staged indoors, Dibaba’s run is recognized as the outdoor 2,000 m world record by the IAAF as it was quicker than Sonia O’Sullivan’s previous outdoor mark of 5 minutes 25.36 seconds. The 2,000 m is not a recognized world record distance indoors.
