US Holiday On September 4 2023?
The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Monday, 2023-09-04:
Labor Day:
[fed] [ca] [tx] [ny] [fl] [il] [pa] [il-le] [hi] [ut] [az] [al] [ok] [ms-le] Labor Day is the first Monday of September. This federal holiday honors the nation's working people, typically with parades. For most Americans it marks the end of the summer vacation season and the start of the school year. Labor Day received its first official recognition by local governments in 1885 and 1886, and it worked its way up through state legislatures. It was officially recognized by Congress in 1894. Because this is a federal holiday, most non-essential government employees will have the day off. Although stores and restaurants will be open, federal and state offices, including the Department of Motor Vehicles, Social Security, the IRS, banks, and the U.S. Postal Service will all be closed.
