US Holiday On March 23 2018?

The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Friday, 2018-03-23:

  • National Poison Prevention Week:

[fed-ob] National Poison Prevention Week is observed in the United States the third week of March. The goal of the week is to raise awareness of the risk of being poisoned by household products, medicines, pesticides, plants, bites and stings, food poisoning, and fumes. Awareness being duly raised, it is hoped that this will prevent poisoning.
  • National Puppy Day:

[non] National Puppy Day, celebrated on March 23 every year, is a day to celebrate the unconditional love that puppies bring to our lives. It also serves as a day to help save orphaned puppies and educate people about the horrors of puppy mills in the United States and across the globe. Pet organizations encourage potential dog owners to visit local shelters, rescues or pure breed rescue organizations before buying a puppy and hereby reinforcing the puppy mill industry. A puppy mill is a mass dog breeding facility that produces puppies with the sole intention of selling them for as much profit as possible which often involves substandard living conditions for their dogs.

Notes:

[fed-ob] United States federal observances are days, weeks, months, or other periods designated by the United States Congress for the commemoration or other observance of various events, activities, or topics. These observances differ from Federal holidays in that Federal employees only receive a day free from work on holidays, not observances. Federal observances that are designated by Congress appear in Title 36 of the United States Code (36 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.).

[non] This is a non-holiday notable day
