US Holiday On August 19 2022?

The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Friday, 2022-08-19:

  • National Aviation Day:

[fed-ob] The President may issue each year a proclamation— (1) designating August 19 as National Aviation Day;(2) calling on United States Government officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on National Aviation Day;and (3) inviting the people of the United States to observe National Aviation Day with appropriate exercises to further stimulate interest in aviation in the United States.
  • National Health Center Week - Day 6:

[pro] This week we recognize the 57th anniversary of the first community health centers being established in America. According to the Presidential Proclamation,
For a half century, health centers have delivered comprehensive, high quality, cost-effective primary health care to patients regardless of their ability to pay. This week, let us recognize the role of health centers and thank the tireless and dedicated center staff who work long hours to provide fundamental services to those who need them most.
  • Hawaii Statehood Day:

[hi] Hawaii Statehood Day, also called Hawaii Admission Day, is celebrated annually on the third Friday in August to commemorate the anniversary of the 1959 admission of Hawaii into the Union. In August 21, 1959, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a proclamation making Hawaii the 50th state, after Hawaiian residents in a referendum voted 94% in support of statehood.

Notes:

[fed-ob] United States federal observances are days, weeks, months, or other periods designated by the United States Congress for the commemoration or other observance of various events, activities, or topics. These observances differ from Federal holidays in that Federal employees only receive a day free from work on holidays, not observances. Federal observances that are designated by Congress appear in Title 36 of the United States Code (36 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.).

[pro] This is a special day designated by presidential proclamation.

[hi] This is a State Holiday in the State of Hawaii.
