US Holiday On October 15 2025?

The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Wednesday, 2025-10-15:

  • White Cane Safety Day:

[fed-ob] The President may issue each year a proclamation designating October 15 as White Cane Safety Day.
  • National School Lunch Week - Day 4:

[pro] This year National School Lunch Week starts on Sunday, October 12 2025 and ends on Saturday, October 18 2025. In 1946 (79 years ago) President Harry Truman signed the National School Lunch Act, which provided meals for over 7 million children in its first year. By joint resolution approved October 9, 1962, the Congress designated the week beginning on the second Sunday of October in each year as "National School Lunch Week" and authorized and requested the President to issue a proclamation in observance of this week. According to a recent presidential proclamation,

More than 30 million children depend on the National School Lunch Program for daily nutrition, and more than 13 million children are able to start their school day with a full stomach because of the School Breakfast Program. For many young people, these programs are the only regular source of food. That is why it is more important than ever to strengthen them and make sure they are supporting healthy lifestyles in classrooms across America. During National School Lunch Week, we encourage schools to expand access to nutritious food options, and we salute all those who work in our Nation's school cafeterias and food preparation centers.

  • Blind Americans Equality Day:

[pro] This day is an apportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the blind and visually impaired citizens, and to commit to building a Nation where all people, including those who are blind or visually impaired, live with the assurance of equal opportunity and equal respect. According to the Presidential Proclamation,
Blind and visually impaired individuals make extraordinary contributions to our Nation, and their achievements reflect an enduring belief at the heart of America's promise: that no person's potential should be limited by anything other than the scope of their dreams. On Blind Americans Equality Day, we recommit to making good on this promise by ensuring all our people, including those living with visual impairments or other print disabilities, have the tools and resources they need to realize their greatest aspirations.
  • National Latino AIDS Awareness Day:

[nhas] The Latino Commission on AIDS, the Hispanic Federation and many other organizations organize this day. According to the official notes,
National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD) is a national community mobilization and social marketing campaign that unites the Hispanic/Latino community in efforts to raise awareness, prevention and education of HIV, Viral Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Tuberculosis.

Notes:

[fed-ob] United States federal observances are days, weeks, months, or other periods designated by the United States Congress for the commemoration or other observance of various events, activities, or topics. These observances differ from Federal holidays in that Federal employees only receive a day free from work on holidays, not observances. Federal observances that are designated by Congress appear in Title 36 of the United States Code (36 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.).

[pro] This is a special day designated by presidential proclamation.

[nhas] Part of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy Awareness Days.
