International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers:
In order to honor the memory of peacekeepers from the United Nations who has lost their lives in the cause of peace; and honoring the men and women who have served and continue to serve in UN Peacekeeping operations and for their high degree of professionalism, dedication and courage, the General Assembly in its resolution 57/129, proclaimed May 29th as the International Day of UN Peacekeepers.
