International Days February 2 2021 (United Nations)
The following is an overview of the days and the corresponding celebration declared by the United Nations that apply to Tuesday, 2021-02-02:
World Interfaith Harmony Week - Day 2:
The United Nations General Assembly underlines in its resolution A/RES/65/5 that mutual understanding and interreligious dialogue constitute important dimensions of a culture of peace and establishes World Interfaith Harmony Week as a way to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith. World Wetlands Day:
In commemoration of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands in Ramsar, Iran, on 2 February 1971, World Wetlands Day is celebrated on February 2 since 1977. The importance of wetlands is that they are ecosystems with high biological diversity, regulators of the water cycle and climate, and are also used for human activities such as tourism and fishing. Marshes (wet meadows, prairie potholes, vernal pools, playa lakes) and swamps (forested swamps such as bottomland hardwoods and shrub swamps such as mangrove swamps) are considered forms of wetland.
