International Days October 1 2018 (United Nations)
The following is an overview of the days and the corresponding celebration declared by the United Nations that apply to Monday, 2018-10-01:
World Habitat Day:
The United Nations in its Resolution 40/202 of 17 December 1985, it designated the first Monday of October of every year as World Habitat Day with the objetive to reflect on the state of our cities and towns and the basic human right to adequate shelter. And also to remind the world of its collective responsibility for the habitat of future generations. International Day of Older Persons:
By resolution 45/106 of 14 December 1990, the United Nations General Assembly designated 1 October as the International Day of Older Persons. This day aims to recognize that a) the elderly are an asset to society who can contribute significantly to the development process, and b) the complexity and rapidity of the aging of the world's population and the need to have a common basis and frame of reference for the protection and promotion of the rights of the elderly, including the contribution that the elderly can and should make to society.
