The Roman Catholic Church, according to the General Roman Calendar, celebrates the following in Tuesday, 2020-04-21:

  • St. Conrad of Parzham, Capuchin, Religious 2020:

    FIRST LECTURE OF THE MASS

    Acts 7:51--8:1

751"You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. 52Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered, 53you who received the law as delivered by angels and did not keep it." 54Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth against him. 55But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God;56and he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God." 57But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together upon him. 58Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him;and the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59And as they were stoning Stephen, he prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60And he knelt down and cried with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.81And Saul was consenting to his death. And on that day a great persecution arose against the church in Jerusalem;and they were all scattered throughout the region of Judea and Sama'ria, except the apostles.

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM

    Psalms 31:3-4, 6-8, 17, 21

2Incline thy ear to me, rescue me speedily! Be thou a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me! 3Yea, thou art my rock and my fortress;for thy name's sake lead me and guide me, 5Into thy hand I commit my spirit;thou hast redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God. 6Thou hatest those who pay regard to vain idols;but I trust in the LORD. 7I will rejoice and be glad for thy steadfast love, because thou hast seen my affliction, thou hast taken heed of my adversities, 16Let thy face shine on thy servant;save me in thy steadfast love! 20In the covert of thy presence thou hidest them from the plots of men;thou holdest them safe under thy shelter from the strife of tongues.

    SECOND LECTURE OF THE MASS

    John 6:30-35

30So they said to him, "Then what sign do you do, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you perform? 31Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness;as it is written, `He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" 32Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven;my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world." 34They said to him, "Lord, give us this bread always." 35Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life;he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.

    GOSPEL OF THE MASS

    Revelation 3:14, 20-22

  • TUESDAY SECOND WEEK OF EASTER 2020:

    Easter Time.

    FIRST LECTURE OF THE MASS

    Acts 4:32-37

The community of believers was of one heart and mind,
and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own,
but they had everything in common.
With great power the Apostles bore witness
to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus,
and great favor was accorded them all.
There was no needy person among them,
for those who owned property or houses would sell them,
bring the proceeds of the sale,
and put them at the feet of the Apostles,
and they were distributed to each according to need.

Thus Joseph, also named by the Apostles Barnabas
(which is translated Ason of encouragement"),
a Levite, a Cypriot by birth,
sold a piece of property that he owned,
then brought the money and put it at the feet of the Apostles.

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM

    Ps 93:1ab, 1cd-2, 5

    R. (1a) The Lord is king;he is robed in majesty.
    or:
    R. Alleluia.
    The LORD is king, in splendor robed;
robed is the LORD and girt about with strength.
    R. The Lord is king;he is robed in majesty.
    or:
    R. Alleluia.
And he has made the world firm,
    not to be moved.
    Your throne stands firm from of old;
from everlasting you are, O LORD.
    R. The Lord is king;he is robed in majesty.
    or:
    R. Alleluia.
Your decrees are worthy of trust indeed:
    holiness befits your house,
O LORD, for length of days.
    R. The Lord is king;he is robed in majesty.
    or:
    R. Alleluia.

    GOSPEL OF THE MASS

    Jn 3:7b-15

    Jesus said to Nicodemus:
"'You must be born from above.'
The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes,
    but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes;
so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
Nicodemus answered and said to him,
    'How can this happen?"
Jesus answered and said to him,
"You are the teacher of Israel and you do not understand this?
Amen, amen, I say to you,
we speak of what we know and we testify to what we have seen,
but you people do not accept our testimony.
If I tell you about earthly things and you do not believe,
how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?
No one has gone up to heaven
except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man.
And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert,
so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."
